About Me

I’m an author, playwright, amateur stargazer, movie fan, educator, and long suffering Oakland Raiders fan. The stories I like to write are either classically tragic or darkly comic stories about sensible, basically decent people struggling to live in senseless, miserably indecent situations.

To give you a bit more about myself, I’ll answer the questions originally posed by Bernard Pivot, and made famous by James Lipton on Inside the Actor’s Studio.

What is your favorite word?

Funny.

What is your least favorite word?

Fee.

What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

The thought that the universe is very large, and we are very small.

What turns you off?

Bigotry, misogyny, and people who pretend they’re not still doing damage.

What is your favorite curse word?

Motherfucker.

What sound or noise do you love?

The French horn part in the fourth movement of Beethoven’s 6th symphony.

What sound or noise do you hate?

Gunfire.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Astrophysicist.

What profession would you not like to do?

Waiter.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

You were wrong. I exist. But it’s cool. I’m nowhere near as vindictive as my worshippers make me out to be. Come on in.
